You strike it. You listen until the sound fades. That's it.

A tuning fork requires no skill, no app, no subscription. You hold it by the stem, strike one prong against the mallet, and a pure note resonates in the room. It slowly diminishes for thirty to forty seconds, then it's gone.

What you do with those forty seconds is your business. But they are measured by something other than your will, and that's exactly why it works: you don't decide when you stop listening, the sound decides.

What it is

• Aluminum alloy tuning fork, tuned to 528 Hz (C note of the so-called sacred solfège scale)
• Approximately 17 cm long, approximately 130 g weight

How to use it

1. Hold it firmly by the stem, never by the prongs — a held prong will not vibrate.
2. Strike one prong with a sharp blow from the mallet, or against the palm of your hand.
3. Bring it close to one ear, then the other. Or place the stem against a wooden table: the furniture amplifies the note.
4. Listen until complete silence. Repeat three times if you want a longer break.

The best time: just before you start your ten minutes, and just after. The sound marks the beginning and the end. This is what transforms a break into a ritual.

What we won't tell you

You will read elsewhere that 528 Hz repairs DNA, heals, soothes anxiety, or acts on the vagus nerve. These claims have no established scientific basis and are not authorized in Europe for this type of product. We will not repeat them, even if our competitors do.

What a tuning fork actually does: it produces a pure, sustained note. A pure note attracts attention, and paying attention to a fading sound is a very simple form of attention to maintain. It is an object for listening, not a medical device.

Do not strike it against a hard surface (table, wall, knee): you would compromise the tuning and damage the metal. Use the provided mallet or your palm. Keep it out of reach of children under 3 years old. Clean with a dry cloth.
